According to the Hindu calendar, the festival of Shattila Ekadashi is celebrated on the Ekadashi date of Krishna Paksha of Magh month. On this day, the Ekadashi tithi will begin on January 5 at 5:24 pm and its tithi will end on January 6 at 4:07 pm. According to Udayatithi, Shattila Ekadashi will be celebrated on 6th February. On February 7, it will be from 7:06 am to 9:18 am.

After the morning bath, worship Lord Vishnu and offer him flowers, incense etc. After observing fast on this day, worship Lord Vishnu at night and perform Jagran and Havan at night. After this, on the day of Dwadashi, wake up early in the morning, take a bath and offer food to Lord Vishnu and after feeding the pundits, take food.
