In the previous Lok Sabha election, the ECI announced the schedule on March 10, with polling conducted in seven phases starting from April 11. The votes were counted on May 23.
CEC Rajiv Kumar stated that over 96.8 crore individuals are eligible to vote in the upcoming polls at more than 12 lakh polling stations.
