The annual Magh Mela in Prayagraj is just around the corner, and preparations are in full swing. People from all over the country and even abroad gather here to take a holy bath. It is believed that by bathing at the Sangam, all sins are cleansed and one’s sufferings are alleviated. According to the Padma Purana, salvation is attained by those who bathe at the Triveni Sangam, where the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers meet. This sacred confluence is known as Triveni.
This place holds great sanctity and it is considered auspicious to bathe here, even on regular days. However, bathing on the banks of Sangam during Magh Mela is believed to be even more auspicious. During this time, a grand fair is organised where many sages, saints, and devotees come to spend their Kalpavas and engage in religious activities. Through Kalpvas, seekers gain the ability to control their minds and senses.
